Olivia Horsfall Turner

Olivia Horsfall Turner, PhD, FSA, is a curator and writer. Having studied at Cambridge, Yale and University College London, she held a post-doctoral fellowship at Trinity College Dublin. Subsequently she worked as an Architectural Investigator at English Heritage and as an Historian with the Survey of London. At the V&A she is Senior Curator of Architecture and Design and is responsible for the national collection of design drawings which documents the creative process in art, architecture and design from the fourteenth century to the present day. She specialises in architectural history, particularly that of seventeenth-century England, and is interested in the role of visual representation in exploration, documentation and communication. She has published on a variety of subjects including medieval wall-painting, early modern antiquarianism, and architectural models, and has curated a number of displays and exhibitions including at the V&A, the Tchoban Foundation Museum for Architectural Drawing in Berlin, and the Venice Biennale.
