As the eleventh installation in their ‘Spatial Positions’ Series, the Swiss Architecture Museum presented ‘This Was Tomorrow’, using material from the Drawing Matter archive to interrogate the architectural mood post-war.

The exhibition explored the period 1953 to 1978 in order to re-evaluate the work done after the second world war. Through these sketches and plans, it demonstrated what co-curator Markus Lähteenmäki described as ‘a shift from the functional to the emotional’. It traced this change through twelve episodes, following the variations in attitude and response by other architects.
