Kendra Matchett

Kendra Matchett has worked closely with Niall Hobhouse to guide the evolution of Drawing Matter since 2015. She is currently involved in creating the Public Programme in London, exploring how Drawing Matter can work with artists of all disciplines to create ways for a wider public to experience the drawings collection.
Kendra has simultaneously worked in the visual and healing arts since the 1990s. Her psychotherapy practice focuses on intergenerational transmission—how memories from an unconscious past are transmitted across generations. This work, alongside, an interest in art and philosophy led her to create Galerie IFF with Gavin Morrison (2007–17).
She led the Public Programme at Shatwell Farm from 2018–2024, animating the spaces and buildings in the valley in creative ways. These projects included Matchett & Page, a gallery project with Matt Page, the Comins x Shatwell Tea House, and a programme of public events in collaboration with artists, architects and musicians and the Drawing Matter team, including the annual open days and Shatwell Opera.
