DMJournal: Submission process

Proposals for papers should be initially submitted as a c.500-word abstract, together with a two-page CV and brief statement of the author’s interest in pursuing the subject. The themed issue that the proposal is being made for should be clearly stated.

Based on the review of proposals, invitations will then be extended to submit full papers of between 5,500 and 8,000 words, including footnotes.  Authors should submit two versions of the text file, one being anonymised for peer review. Final acceptance for publication in DMJournal is subject to the outcome of the peer review process. For any submission, our aim is to provide a decision within six weeks of receipt of the full paper and to complete its online publication as soon as possible after that.

Deadline for receipt of initial proposals: Monday 22 November 2021.
Final date for submission of selected full papers: Monday 25 April 2022.

Authors are responsible for clearing copyright for images used in accepted articles. Images submitted as part of the peer review process are not required to be copyright cleared in advance. No charge will be made for the use of materials drawn from the Drawing Matter Collection.
